PROFILE

Shane Hedges
I was born where the Okavango Delta meets the Kalahari sands, in the small town of Maun, Botswana. I was fortunate enough to grow up in one of the most beautiful places in the world; The Okavango Delta, which was recently proclaimed a world heritage site.

I developed a passion for the African wilderness at an early age. By the time I was two weeks old I was already “on safari” with my parents Adam & Brigitte Hedges. This passion has been the constant throughout my life, and I would like nothing more than to be able to share the privilege of experiencing the African bush with future generations.

Many ask me what it is like to live in Botswana but there are no words that can paint the picture of this wondrous place. You simply have to experience it.

"Its not about the destination its a way of life"

Education

Matswane Primary School
Somerset College
University of Colorado at Boulder

Having majored in Environmental Studies, I want to bring my knowledge back to Botswana in an effort to help the country develop sustainably, focusing primarily on our world heritage site, the Okavango Delta. Guiding is not only a passion for me, it is also a tool for conservation.
